Insider” co-anchor Thea Andrews caught up with Gloria Gaynor to talk about the 35thanniversary of her hit anthem, “I Will Survive” and her book, “We Will Survive.” When Thea asked Gloria if she is surprised by how the song has stood the test of time, Gloria explained, “It has been uplifting for me, inspiring for me, it has added so much meaning and purpose to my life.” The song’s message of perseverance has been an inspiration for many and fans have long shared it’s life-changing influences with Gloria. She collected the stories for a new book, “We Will Survive” in which Gloria also opens up about her painful past and how she was molested. “I want it to be that people recognize through reading these stories that the power for them to survive, whatever life throws at them is available to them.
