'Fashion Police' Returns with Melissa Rivers as Co-Host

Fashion Police returned to E! to cover the duds worn by the stars at the MTV VMA's. The episode also saw Melissa Rivers, the daughter of the late great Joan Rivers, back on the show as co-host. Joan might no longer be with us, but her show has not forgotten her. Aside from a large picture of her adorning the walls, Melissa happily referenced her legendary mother throughout. Like when she was talking about Blac Chyna and Amber Rose's outfits, which featured several obscenities usually directed at women. "You guys are missing the fact that it's really a tribute to my mother. Because those are many of her favorite words," Rivers said to applause. Joan was always quick with a sharp jab. So, did Melissa tap into that spirit when it came time to chat about Kim Kardashian's widely-panned outfit? Not really. Rivers said, "I am giving Kim a free pass on this one, but Kim, this is for you. I am sorry, you are a big star, you can get any dress in the world. We have seen you dress beautifully through pregnancy. So on this one, I give you a free pass, I expect better." Melissa, alongside Giuliana Rancic, Brad Goreski, and guest panelists Margaret Cho and Nene Leakes continued to honor Joan by guessing what she'd say about Justin Bieber's look. "I think my mother would say 'God, she looks pretty,'" Rivers quipped.
