New Documentary Takes a Look at the Impact of the 'Selfie'

by The Insider 2:37 mins

A new documentary titled, "Selfie," is taking a look at how teenage girls are struggling with body image in the era of the ever scrutinized selfie. The film, spearheaded by Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty, takes a look inside social media’s effect on young women and how they view themselves. “The Insider” traveled to Great Barrington, Massachusetts where “Selfie” was shot in order to meet Academy Award winning director Cynthia Wade and the mothers and daughters who star in the film. “We explained that we wanted to make a film about selfies about redefining beauty. And then as we did interviews with daughters and mothers things opened up,” Cynthia explained. Check out the vid to hear from the mother and daughter duos who star in the film and be sure to tune into "The Insider" on TV tonight for the latest in entertainment news.
