The Oscar nominations were announced on Thursday morning and there were a few big names that were noticeably absent from the list. Among those snubbed by the Academy include Robert Redford, Tom Hanks, and Oprah Winfrey. Gold Derby’s Tom O’Neil told “The Insider” that Lady O’s film, “The Butler” likely underperformed because the it was released in the summer and lost its steam. The Hollywood Reporter also thought that Oprah was a strong candidate for Oscar gold, but interestingly, only three of the mag’s so-called contenders – Julia Roberts, Amy Adams and Lupita Nyong’o – were actually nominated. Check out the vid to learn more about this year’s Oscar nominees and those that didn’t make the list and be sure to tune into “The Insider” on TV tonight for the latest in entertainment news.
