Barbara Walters: Behar and Hasselbeck Were Fired to 'Shake Things Up' at 'The View'

by The Insider 1:40 mins

When Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck gave up their respective seats on "The View" last year, they claimed it was their own decision. Still, many speculated that they were given the pink slip and now Barbara Walters is shedding new light on their exits from the daytime show. In the latest issue of Variety, the TV legend reveals that she and executive producer Bill Geddie made the decision with ABC. "I think the feeling was if one went, both had to leave. We needed to shake things up," she says. Barbara recently announced her plan to retire and will be hanging up her co-hosting hat on May 16, but not before she shakes up the panel one more time. Check out the video to find out what changes Barbara wants to make and be sure to tune into "The Insider" on TV tonight for the latest in entertainment news.
