How Carmen Dell’Orefice Rewrote Her Life After Falling Victim to Madoff Ponzi Scheme

by The Insider 2:34 mins

At 84 years old, Carmen Dell’Orefice is the oldest working model in the world — and is currently killing it in an industry filled with colleagues young enough to be her granddaughters. A young, fresh-faced “Vogue” cover girl nearly 68 years ago, Carmen left the industry but was forced to return after learning she was a victim of Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme back in 2008. At 77 years old, she says, she quickly learned she had nothing left except the apartment she’d lived in for 40 years. But these days, more gorgeous than ever, Carmen is the face of “New You” magazine and is offering some inspiring words for all women. Check out this video to hear her secrets to a long and productive life, and tune in to “The Insider With Yahoo” on TV tonight for the latest in entertainment news.
