TLC’s New ‘Labor Games’ Show Sparking Controversy

by The Insider 1:59 mins

Discovery Channel’s hit reality show “Cash Cab” takes unsuspecting passengers on a ride while they’re asked trivia questions for dollars, and now TLC has a new show that attempts to capture that same drama — but this show takes place in the delivery room. “Labor Pains” premieres on Wednesday night with the object of ambushing expectant parents during labor to ask them questions for prizes. And it’s sparking all sorts of controversy. “The Insider With Yahoo” caught up with Beth Fledman, mother of two and president of RoleMommy.com, to chat about the controversial show. Giving birth “is an incredibly tough experience to go through; you don’t need to put a woman through any more stress than that,” Beth explains. But according to the show’s host, Lisa Arch, it’s all just fun and games. Lisa says, “This wouldn’t be fun if we were putting anyone in danger.” She goes on to explain, “We worked very closely with the nurses to make sure nothing ever went wrong.” But what have contestants had to say about their experience on the show? Check out this video to find out, and tune in to “The Insider With Yahoo” on TV tonight for the latest in entertainment news.
