During a romantic Parisian vacation, New York Knicks captain, Amar’e Stoudemire, asked his girlfriend and mother of his three children, Alexis Welch, for her hand in marriage June 2.
The two were standing on the private penthouse at the Le Meurice Hotel admiring the view of Eiffel Tower, when Amar’e popped the question, reports Page Six.
“Having Amar’e ask me to marry him while overlooking the Paris skyline seemed like some sort of romantic fantasy,” Alexis gushed. “Amar’e put so much care and thought into every detail to make it special for us. We are truly blessed!”
Celebrity jeweler Shayan Afshar designed Alexis’ giant diamond ring. “I have been planning my proposal for a while, and [Paris] … seemed like a perfect place,” Amar’e revealed. “I am so happy she said yes, and now we can continue to build our life together as husband and wife.”
