Larry David totally deserves and Emmy Award.

The 64thEmmy Awards will air on September 23, and the best in TV will be honored once again. There are a lot of intriguing names in each of the acting categories, but one name really stands out. Larry David is nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for "Curb Your Enthusiasm" once again, and it's time for him to win the award. He has won an Emmy for writing in the past, but his acting work has always been overlooked for one reason or another. With any luck, that will change in 2012. Here are a few reasons why Larry deserves to hear his name called at the Emmys.

He's been here before

While Larry might be more famous as the brains behind "Seinfeld," he's proven that he has talent as an actor. This nomination is his fifth in this category for "Curb," and that means that his performance in the most recent season was no fluke. Could the fifth time be the charm for the star? If the voters are kind, it will be. Larry's first nomination for the role came all the back in 2003, and it would be wrong to make him go a full decade without a win.

It's not easy playing yourself

Many celebs have enjoyed playing fictionalized versions of themselves, but no one has done for as long as or better than Larry. He's so convincing as the jerk that everyone loves to hate that it's hard to see him as anything else. When your character becomes bigger than yourself, you know you're doing a fine acting job. The fact that most of us see Larry for what he is on the show is a testament to how talented he really is.

This might be his last chance

At the present time, there's no word on a potential ninth season of "Curb." While some stars remain optimistic about the future of the show, there has been nothing definitive from Larry or HBO. That means that this could be the last time that Larry receives an Emmy nomination. After all, it's hard to imagine him taking on a new show any time soon. With that in mind, the Emmys should honor one of the truly unappreciated roles in TV history. This category features several actors that have already won, including Alec Baldwin and Jim Parsons. This is the perfect year to honor someone new, and Larry is the perfect person to receive that honor.
