On Thursday's episode of The X Factor, one of the final four acts was sent home, while viewer votes sent the other three on to next week's final. Who made it through, and was the right act eliminated? Keep reading to find out.
With no sing-off and only one act getting axed, it was a pretty fluff-filled hour that consisted mostly of a recap of Wednesday's songs — during which Simon Cowell said it would take a "miracle" for his group Fifth Harmony to overcome the other three acts and earn a spot in the final. (He's right, but ouch!)
But wait — not so fast. Hosts Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez trickled out the Safe acts throughout the evening, and Fifth Harmony was named as the first act to go through to the finals midway through the broadcast. No doubt the announcement came as a shock, as the quintet was in last place going into the semifinals. (It also resulted in Britney Spears giving what might be the best "Britney face" of the entire season, looking like she had just eaten something foul.)
The next act deemed safe, somewhat less surprisingly, was Stevens, who was ranked in the top spot heading into the semifinals. That likely reassured L.A. Reid, who announced Thursday that he'll be leaving the show after this season and would probably love to exit with a victory.
Bruno Mars and Bridgit Mendler also gave performances before the elimination proceedings officially began, with only Sonenclar and Emblem 3 left in the lurch. Which one was dismissed?
After much fanfare, Lopez announced that Sonenclar was safe. "I can't wait to buy your album," the 13-year-old graciously told Emblem 3.
What do you think of the results? And who will you be rooting for in the final — Fifth Harmony, Tate Stevens, or Carly Rose Sonenclar? Weigh in below!
