White gowns are often a showstopper at awards show! The contrast of a white gown against a red carpet is simply stunning. Although the color looks good on anyone, it takes some serious chops and confidence to pull off a white gown. Who rocked the best white gowns at the 2013 Oscars and who should have plucked a different shade from their closet?
Miss Saldana is known for taking risks on the red carpet, but her choices don't always work out. Her ensemble at the Oscars, however, was fabulous. She wore a white strapless Alexis Mabille Couture gown that had embellished detailing on the bodice, a belt, and an asymmetrical hem that consisted of gray, charcoal and black multi-tiered layers. Typically with so much going on, it would be a huge fail, but she made it work perfectly.
The South African beauty looked incredible in a white Dior Haute Couture strapless gown that had peplum detailing and a long train. She showed off her short hair, which she buzzed off for her new role in "Fury Road." Although she was dripping in Harry Winston jewels, a little stud necklace would have looked lovely. The entire look was basically flawless, but crystal embellishments around the waist would have been everything. In addition to her killer Oscar style, the new mom also showed off her dancing skills. She performed a number on stage with Channing Tatum in the beginning of the show and looked lovely doing it.
The Queen did not disappoint at the 2013 Oscars in a white Badgley Mischka gown that had a deep V-neckline. She finished off the look with a white clutch, diamond bracelet and dangling diamond earrings. Her best accessory, however, was the bright berry shade of lipstick that perfectly complemented the gown.
White may be difficult to pull off, but all the aforementioned beauties did it perfectly. Who gets your vote for the best and worst white gown at the 2013 Oscars?
