Watch: Aziz Ansari, Eric Wareheim Reinterpret ‘Master of None’ as Cheesy Sitcom

Aziz Ansari and comedian Eric Wareheim co-star in “Big Bud Li’l Bud,” a cheesy fictional sitcom Wareheim teased via YouTube on Wednesday.

“A teaser for an unaired CBS pilot called Big Bud Lil Bud. Was the original inspiration for ‘Master of None,'” the video’s caption jokingly reads.

Starring Wareheim as Jeremy Kuhar and Ansari as Kenneth R. Ballendir, the teaser clip begins with an opening theme song — complete with text overlay of credits and “Full House”-like pep –and features obnoxious bouts of waving mixed with continual shots of Kenneth hoisted in Jeremy’s arms.

The clip then leads into “Big Bud Li’l Bud” episode clips, previewing a scene in which the unlikely brother duo is faced with a towering mound of bananas and another in which a dog reveals to the boys that he’s the reincarnation of their deceased father. In the spirit of a true sitcom, the episode previews are peppered with audio tracks of audience laughter.

On Thursday, Ansari announced via Twitter that “Masters of None” will return for season 2 in 2017. Quite unlike his character in “Big Bud Li’l Bud,” the Netflix series features the “Parks and Recreation” alum as an actor trying to manage his professional and personal life in New York City.
