Coldplay paid tribute to the late Adam "MCA" Yauch with an odd, mournful cover of The Beastie Boys' exuberant hit "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)."
Beastie Boys' Adam "MCA" Yauch dead at 47
The performance took place at Coldplay's show at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday night. Frontman Chris Martin ended the spare rendition by inserting the lyric, "We're sending all our love to the Beastie Boys."
Although a cause of death has not been announced, Yauch had been battling cancer since 2009. He was 47.
