Words were not enough to express Eva Longoria's joy over Barack Obama's re-election.

The actress was moved to tears upon hearing the news. "Me and my friends celebrating!," Longoria tweeted. "I'm [in] tears! Moving the country forward!!! Obama!!!"

From Eastwood to Big Bird, look back at the election's highs and lows

Longoria was an outspoken supporter of Obama, serving alongside Kal Penn as co-chair of his campaign. Throughout the months leading up to Election Night, Longoria appeared in political ads, gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention and even campaigned for him in Las Vegas.

"I was moved to tears and I was so excited because we did work very hard for the campaign," Longoria said Thursday's Good Morning America. "But at the same time, it just showed that the middle class won and the super PACs didn't get to buy the election, they didn't get to buy America.

"It was a huge night for a lot of people," she continues. "For women ...A huge night for the LGBT [community] that showed up for the president. And of course it was a huge night for Latinos, and I was very happy to be a part of that."
