Ricky Gervais will release the pilot episode of his new web series, Learn English with Ricky Gervais, later this month for free on iTunes, according to a teaser video released for the project.

The tongue-in-cheek series will feature Gervais and his frequent collaborator Karl Pilkington examining the nuances of the English language. "This is the worst English lesson ever," Gervais says in the video clip, barely able to keep a straight face.

The British comedian offered more details about the project in a blog post on his website this week. Gervais said he plans to offer the pilot episode for free on iTunes on Aug. 14, and then is considering charging a nominal fee or trying to obtain sponsorship for the series.

"Unlike the audio podcasts this actually costs quite a bit to make, but even if we charge it will still only be a couple of [British pounds]," he wrote.

"We hope to have it subtitled into as many languages as possible," Gervais continued, adding that he's considering offering a "clean" version of the pilot that viewers can download and add their own subtitles.

"You can do a Klingon version if you want," he wrote. "Interactive."
