Curtis Stone, the host of "Top Chef Masters" and actress Lindsay Price have announced they are expecting their first child. The couple, who have been together since 2009, join the ranks of the many other celebrities who have added new little bundles of joy to their families this year.
One question about the couple's impending new arrival is if they'll follow suit and give their baby a quirky, unique celebrity baby name. Many celebrities have raised more than a few eyebrows with their choices of baby names. Will Lindsay and Curtis keep it safe with an Emma or a Caden? Or will they shock us with an Apple or a Kal-El? There have been more than a few interesting baby names so far in 2011. The following are the top 20 unique, trendy baby names so far this year.
No Doubt singer Adrian Young and his wife Nina welcomed little Magnolia Renee into the world on June 10.
Courtney Friel, and entertainment news reporter for the Fox News Channel had her baby boy, Cash Hudson, on January 1. The proud daddy is CNN's Carter Evans.
Gretchen Mol gave birth to her little girl, Winter Morgan on February 17. The Boardwalk Empire" star and her hubbie, director Kip Williams have another child, Ptolemy John in their growing family.
Martha Stewart became a grandma when her daughter, Alexis Stewart, gave birth to baby Jude on March 8. Thanks to Jude Law, this name has become more popular over the years. However, did I mention that Stewart's little Jude is a baby girl?
Rachel Zoe and her husband Rodger Berman had a baby boy they named Skyler Morrison in March. I'm guessing the celebrity stylist's little one's wardrobe will be as trendy as his name.
Okay, okay, Drea de Matteo's baby's legal name is not Blackjack, but it seems that will be the name he goes by. His real name is Waylon Albert. Waylon is rarely used these days and is therefore unique itself, but his nickname Blackjack is off the trendy baby name charts.
Little Anja Jasmine joined Andrew Firestone's clan on April 15. While it seems that some celebrities close their eyes, point their finger, spin around five times and name their child after whatever they're pointing at when they stop, little Anja's name has some significance to it. She was named after her grandmother's best friend Anya, however Andrew and his Serbian wife, Ivana, gave the spelling a Serbian twist.
I must admit, I love this name. It topped my own baby name list a few years ago (except I would have chosen a "C"), but after two baby girls, I never got to use it. Kevin James and his wife Steffiana welcomed Kannon Valentine in April 2011.
Monroe and Moroccan
I don't think any of us were surprised that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon chose unique baby names for their twins who were born in April 2011. Their son, Moroccan, was named after a room in their apartment of the same name and daughter Monroe was named after Carey's idol, Marilyn Monroe.
Alicia Silverstone and her husband, Christopher Jarecki welcomed a son, Bear Blu, On May 5, 2011. Unfortunately this little guy won't have much luck if he doesn't like his first name when he gets older, as he doesn't have a "normal" middle name to fall back on. Bear Jarecki and Blu Jarecki are on even keel.
Other uber trendy baby names for the first half of 2011 include Pink's daughter Willow, Jennie Finch's son Diesel, Doutzen Kroes's son Phyllon, Tony Kanal's daughter Coco, Mike Tyson's son Morocco and Tania Peterson's daughter Zuzu.
