Trash Talk: Rashida Jones Slams TV Academy

Sounds like Rashida Jones is not happy after Parks and Recreation’s recent Emmy snub – and she is not keeping quiet about her discontent! While talking to The Hollywood Reporter about her upcoming film Celeste and Jesse Forever, she openly discussed her frustration that Emmy voters didn’t nominate her NBC show Parks & Recreation for Best Comedy.

"I mean, c'mon. But remember, this is the same organization that didn't give Steve Carell an Emmy. Ever." Carell, who starred on Jones’ former show The Office, earned six Emmy nominations for his work, but never took home Emmy gold.

While Parks & Rec did garner a nom for Amy Poehler in the Lead Actress category, as well as two more nods for comedy writing, Jones believes that makes being overlooked in the Best Comedy category even more shocking. In the interview Jones further criticized the TV Academy, saying, "The thing that's just crazy is that it's clearly deserved, so it just makes them look crazy."

Well Rashida, you might think the Emmy nom is clearly deserved but it doesn’t appear the voters seem to agree. Maybe next year, Jonesy!
