Comedian and actor Tracy Morgan's condition was not known following an incident at the Sundance Film Festival that ended in Morgan being rushed to a local hospital. Apparently the actor lost consciousness and collapsed just after receiving an award at the prestigious film festival. Morgan is in Park City, Utah promoting his upcoming film "Predisposed."
The award Tracy was accepting was the Creative Coalition Spotlight award. Past winners include Whoopi Golderg and Robin Williams. When he collapsed just moments after finishing his acceptance speech for the award, reports came pouring in that Tracy was intoxicated in some form or another. Morgan's reps quickly defused any speculation that drugs or alcohol were involved, blaming the collapse instead on "a combination of exhaustion and altitude, " according to Us Weekly . The rep continued to deny any substance issues, saying, " ...reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100 percent false."
This is not the "30 Rock" star's first brush with a medical scare by any means. In 1996 he was reportedly diagnosed with diabetes, but never took any action in regard to treatment. It was until he had a diabetes-related health scare on the set of the show that he assented to following a treatment plan. Morgan also missed a substantial portion of last year's season of "30 Rock" after recovering from kidney transplant surgery.
In recent weeks, there have been other celebrities who have have been rushed to the hospital, for one reason or another. Here now are a few other celebs who like Tracy Morgan have had recent health scares.
Heather Locklear - The 50-year-old actress was recently rushed to a hospital in L.A. after an emergency call was placed from her home. Later it was divulged that Locklear had secretly entered rehab after her recent split with boyfriend Jack Wagner, though this incident took place after the "Melrose Place" star had left the treatment facility.
Kevin Federline - The very same weekend that Morgan was taken to the hospital in Utah, Britney's ex-husband was taken to the hospital with chest pains in Australia. K-Fed is currently filming a celebrity weight loss reality show called "Excess Baggage" down under. After performing one of the activities for the show, Kevin complained of chest pains and a racing heart. After being rushed to the hospital and having an EKG performed, it was determined that he did not have a heart attack, but he would be continued to be monitored.
Nick Cannon - Mr. Mariah Carrey and host of "America's Got Talent," Nick Cannon was rushed to the hospital just after the new year started. Reportedly the star suffered from "mild kidney failure." Initially, Cannon was hospitalized in Colorado, but was moved to Los Angeles where he underwent surgery.
