The trending topic that dominated celebrity tweets was the passing of Amy Winehouse who died on July 23rd. Words by celebs such as Samantha Ronson, who tweeted, "I'm not sure how anyone with a soul can make jokes about the passing of one of the most talented artists this generation will see," have been widely reported. However, other stars took time away from promotion, jokes or just their typical conversations to pay their respects to the young singer, as well. Some of them, such as Tatum O'Neal and David Hasselhoff, know all to well about the perils of substance abuse.
