Tommy Hilfiger has a new project up his sleeve, but this time, it doesn't involve creating new clothing lines.
American Idol has tapped the veteran fashion designer to be its first-ever "image advisor," where he will "mentor the contestants to define their performance identities and help guide their style transformations as they fight for their chance to become the next AMERICAN IDOL," according to a statement.
The hit FOX voice competition is currently in its eleventh season, and although the contestant group just got narrowed down to 13, the season has already had several highlights.
In February, Jim Carrey's 24-year-old daughter Jane made her way to Hollywood Week, only to deliver a shaky performance of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Looking Out My Back Door," which resulted in her elimination.
That same week, 16-year-old contestant Symone Black fell off the stage and hit her head immediately following her performance of "(Sittin On') the Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding.
And just this Wednesday, Jessica Sanchez, 16, moved judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson to tears during her rendition of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" -- and was the only contestant whose performance resulted in a standing ovation.
