Actor and comedian Tommy Chong is currently in a battle with prostate cancer. The star, best known for his roles in a series of pot-themed comedies along with Cheech Marin, recently confirmed his illness on CNN. "I've got prostate cancer, and I'm treating it with hemp oil, with cannabis," said the actor. "So [legalizing marijuana] means a lot more to me than just being able to smoke a joint without being arrested." While his unconventional treatment methods are sure to grab headlines, the real story is the fact that another celebrity is dealing with a fight with cancer. Here is a look at some other stars that are currently fighting battles with cancer.

Robin Roberts

The "Good Morning America" host has been battling breast cancer for years. In 2007, she revealed her condition on the morning talk show and underwent a series of procedures in order to recover. Though she had apparently beaten the cancer, she was forced to make another troubling announcement on June 11, 2012. Her cancer treatment triggered a blood disorder that will require a bone marrow transplant later this year. Despite the difficulties, Roberts remains eternally optimistic. "My doctors tell me I'm going to beat this and I know it's true," she said in a statement.

Giuliana Rancic

The TV host and reality superstar revealed that she had breast cancer late in 2011. Shortly after making the announcement, Giuliana had to undergo a double mastectomy. Despite the serious situation involving her health, she returned to her red carpet duties just in time for awards season in 2012. She has maintained a positive attitude regarding her health as she and husband Bill prepare to become parents. "I just feel like things are kind of better than ever, which is so strange," she said earlier this year. "An experience like this can either break you or it can make you stronger. I chose to just have a good attitude about it, to look at the positive, and it's certainly made me stronger."

Ryan O'Neal

The 70-year-old actor revealed that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in April but is keeping a positive outlook. "Although I was shocked and stunned by the news, I feel fortunate that it was detected early and according to my extraordinary team of doctors the prognosis is positive for a full recovery," said the "Love Story" actor. O'Neal lost longtime love and "Charlie's Angels" star Farrah Fawcett to cancer in 2009.
