Tom Cruise calls Suri ‘several times a day’
Tom Cruise may not have seen his daughter in over a month, but it doesn’t mean they’re not still close. After a report came out this week that the “Mission: Impossible” star had “abandoned” 6-year-old Suri because he had not seen her since August 4 when he took her to Disney World, a source tells People that couldn’t be further from the truth. "Tom talks to Suri several times a day,” says the insider close to Cruise. “He misses Suri very much.”
Cruise, 50, is currently in London, where he has been busy filming “All You Need is Kill” the past few weeks. Suri, meanwhile, has been with mom Katie Holmes in New York City, where she just began the first grade on September 11. Although her father wasn’t there to see her off on her first day or help her with her homework after school, “he’s up on everything that’s going on in her life,” adds People’s source.
Even Cruise’s lawyer, Bert Fields, has weighed in, calling In Touch’s story “a disgusting, vicious lie by a disgusting, vicious publishing company who I have strongly recommended we sue. Tom, who is working on a picture in England and calls Suri every day, sometimes twice day. It’s a disgusting, vicious lie."
But although she talks to her father often, the transition into her new life as the child of divorced parents has not been easy on Suri, reports Us Weekly. A friend of Holmes’ tells the magazine: "She said the divorce has been hard on Suri and she's acting out. Katie says no to some things, but gives a little leeway. She knows Tom is going to spoil her."
