Taylor Swift loves to write songs about her famous exes, which include Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, and Jake Gyllenhaal. So now her fans are probably trying to figure out which one of them her new song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is about.
Based on previous reports about Swifty's love life and what she's said about the song, the Jo Bro seems like the most likely culprit. According to People, this is what Taylor said about how "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" came to be: "This guy walks in who is a friend of my ex's and starts talking about how he's heard we're going to get back together. And that was not the case. ... So I start telling them the story: break up, get back together, break up, get back together - just, ugh, the worst! And I picked up the guitar and Max said, 'This is what we're writing.'"
So basically a friend of Taylor's ex heard a rumor that the singer and her former flame were getting back together. There just happens to be such a rumor about Taylor and Joe.
According to a September 2011 Us Weekly report, one of Joe's pals claimed that the Jo Bro was trying to win Taylor back. Obviously this wouldn't be an easy feat since he dumped her via a brief phone call in 2008. A friend of Taylor's said of their rumored reconciliation, "They're putting their past behind them. And maybe rekindling an old flame."
In Taylor's new song, she also speaks these lines: "So he calls me up and he's like, "I still love you," and I'm like, I'm just... This is exhausting, you know like. We're never getting back together. Like ever." This little like-laden anecdote definitely sounds like it could describe the end result of Joe's attempt to win Taylor back.
But poor jilted Joe will probably have plenty of company on Taylor's new album "Red" - surely she'll have some fresh thoughts about John Mayer now that he's wooing Katy Perry, and if she hurries to break things off with Robert F. Kennedy's grandson Conor Kennedy, perhaps she can rush to record a sad song with a title like "When Camelot Crumbles." However, since Taylor reportedly bought a house next to the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Mass., it's doubtful that the country crooner's fans will hear a teary tune about Conor when "Red" is released on Oct. 22.
So do you think that Taylor's new song is about Joe?
