Actress Tatum O'Neal is back in rehab after suffering a cocaine relapse. The 48-year-old blonde, who won an Oscar for her role in "Paper Moon" in 1973, checked into a Southern California rehab clinic last month as she continues her long battle with the drug. According to her reports, her estranged father Ryan has been visiting her as she tries to recover. "Ryan has been visiting her regularly because he is so concerned about her," says a source. "They are working on their complicated relationship." Sadly, the former child star has run into trouble a number of times during her life. Here is a look back at some of Tatum's other struggles over the years.

Her drug battle cost her custody of her kids

Tatum was famously married to tennis star John McEnroe in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Together, the couple had three kids despite a very turbulent romance. After the two divorced, Tatum regularly engaged in drug abuse that ultimately led to John winning full custody of the kids. "I had to endure the indignity of supervised visits with John controlling the schedule," she wrote in her memoir "A Paper Life."

She was arrested in 2008

In 2008, the actress was arrested for attempting to buy crack cocaine from a Manhattan drug dealer. According to the report, she was found in possession of both crack cocaine and powder cocaine. The star mentioned that she was distraught over the death of her dog, but acknowledged that the arrest saved her from her ruining her life. As a result of the bust, Tatum was forced to complete a drug rehab program.

She accused her father of abuse

In her memoir, Tatum opened up about abuse that she suffered at the hands of her famous father. "Yeah, he still kind of does," when asked by a reporter about her father's abusive streak. "I mean, there was always a slugging thing. Or a backhand, or throwing out of the car or whatever. It was a rough, just rough around the house." For his part, Ryan denied any allegations that he ever hit his daughter.
