Swift, Seyfried Offered 'Les Miserables' Roles

Taylor Swift and Amanda Seyfried have been offered to join a star-studded cast for a film adaption of Les Misérables, which already includes Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, and Hugh Jackman.

Swift has been offered the role of Eponine and Seyfried would play Cosette, according to Broadway World. Scarlett Johansson, Lea Michele, and Evan Rachel Wood have also allegedly been in contention for the roles in the converted musical.

Although Swift briefly appeared in Valentine's Day (2010), this would be her first main role on the big screen.

Seyfried starred in the 2008 film Mamma Mia!, another musical that was converted to the big screen.

Les Misérables (translated literally "The Miserable Ones"), is a story about ex-convict Jean Valjean's struggles and redemption.

Filming is set to commence in March 2012 and is tentatively scheduled for release in December 2012.
