Steve Jobs Biopic Secrets Leaked

Details about Sony's upcoming big-screen biopic about late Apple mastermind Steve Jobs are being leaked by none other than the writer of the movie himself, Aaron Sorkin.

"This entire movie is going to be three scenes, and three scenes only, that all take place in real time," Sorkin tells Newsweek & The Daily Beast editor-in-chief Tina Brown, adding, "I hope I don't get killed by the studio for giving too much away."

"There will be no time cuts -- each of these three scenes is going to take place …backstage before a product launch," he elaborates. "The first one being the Mac, the second one being NeXT (after he had left Apple), and the third one being the iPod."

No stranger to making the behind-the-scenes drama of high-tech, high-pressure Silicon Valley companies crackle, the man who earned an Oscar for writing The Social Network is basing the Jobs project on Walter Isaacson's bestselling biography of the Apple founder -- not to be confused with a competing project starring Ashton Kutcher as Jobs.

Sorkin has said that he knew Jobs and the late visionary would call him from time to time "out of the blue," adding, "The second to last time I spoke to him, he asked if I would help him with the Stanford commencement address."

The Newsroom creator also candidly said that he had hesitations about taking on the project because "it's a little like writing about The Beatles -- there are so many people out there who know so much about him and who revere him. I saw a minefield of disappointment."

Still, for Sorkin, "He has to, for me, be a hero. … [But] there's no point in writing about someone unless they are flawed."
