As the eastern seaboard deals with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, NBC gathered the best and brightest stars and musicians for a telethon that would hopefully ease both the emotional and financial pain.

Hosted by Matt Lauer, Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together featured first-hand stories of those affected by the hurricane, whether that was a woman who found her parents' wedding photo nearly a mile away from the wreckage of her home, or the Seaside Heights boardwalk enveloped by the sea, with the roller coaster finding new residence in the ocean. These were just a few of stories featured, but there are millions more as the estimated cost of Sandy was listed at $50 billion, while the storm claimed the lives of 88 people.

The telethon also featured performances by Christina Aguilera, Jon Bon Jovi, Sting, Mary J. Blige and Billy Joel, who also sang "Under the Boardwalk" alongside Jimmy Fallon, Bruce Springsteen and Steven Tyler.

With the help of Kevin Bacon, Tina Fey, Jon Stewart, Brian Williams and Al Roker, NBC helped to bring in the donations, which will all be sent to the American Red Cross relief efforts to help provide food, shelter, emotional support and any other needed assistance.

To donate now, visit the Red Cross' website, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
