Modern Family's Sofía Vergara has been named the No. 1 Most Desirable Woman of 2012 by AskMen.com. In a tally of more than 1 million international votes for the site's annual list of the "Top 99 Most Desirable Women," the Colombian-born actress took the top spot.

Vergara, who turns 40 in July, is the oldest person to win the title.

"I am so honored to be AskMen's most desired woman this year. A big thank you to all the men who desire me," she said.

Joining Vergara on this year's list are TV stars Kim Kardashian (No. 8), Zooey Deschanel (No. 12), and Kat Dennings (No. 30).

Last year's winner was Gossip Girl's Blake Lively. Emmanuelle Chriqui took the No.1 spot in 2010, Eva Mendes in 2009.

"With more than a third of the women on this year's list being first time honorees, it is clear that men are intrigued by women who are new on the scene," says James Bassil, editor-in-chief of AskMen. "The 2012 Top 99 Most Desirable Women are an eclectic group — which explains the wide range in what today's man finds appealing."
