The Smiths aren't trying to keep up with the Kardashians when it comes to being a famous family!
According to RadarOnline, Will Smith's superstar brood -- which is comprised of himself, wife Jada Pinkett Smith, daughter Willow, and son Jaden -- was compared to the Kardashians during a recent interview with New York Magazine. However, the Fresh Prince doesn't see fame as his family's endgame. The "After Earth" actor responded to the Kardashian comparison by saying, "Fame is almost an inconsequential by-product of what we're really trying to accomplish. We are trying to put great things into the world, we're trying to have fun, and we're trying to become the greatest versions of ourselves in the process of doing things we love."
He also seemed to take a subtle dig at the Kardashians when he concluded, "So the idea of fame or exploitation or orchestrating the media is sometimes even less than desirable for us." Hopefully this comment doesn't cause problems since his son Jaden Smith is such good pals with Kardashian clan member Kylie Jenner.
Will isn't the only celeb who has been offended by being compared to a Kardashian. Here's a look at a few other stars who weren't happy about being mentioned in the same breath as Kim K.:
Paris was the original socialite whose main claim to fame was simply being famous, so it's not hard to see why she wasn't too happy about being compared to her former gal pal. According to Us Weekly, this is the thinly-veiled dig she made about Kim Kardashian during a 2011 interview with the Associated Press: "There's so many people out there who try to imitate what I do, but I am the original. There is nothing like me." Luckily, now it looks like Paris is totally over her feud with her former BFF. Earlier this year, she told TMZ that she's "really happy" about Kim's pregnancy, and she might not have a reason to feel jealous of Kim anymore -- Paris is planning to make a big comeback with her music career.
This "Teen Mom" star filmed a sex tape and is set to star in her own reality series, but don't you dare compare her to Kim K. Farrah complained about the Kimmy comparisons by telling ETOnline, "We are two different people, two different situations." She went on to criticize the Kardashian by saying, "I also don't agree with everything that she's done in her life, so I hope to live my life a little bit differently." Farrah did have her child before filming her sex tape, so there's at least one difference between the teen mom and Kim.
That's right -- there's even a Kardashian who doesn't like being compared to other Kardashians! During an interview with Cosmopolitan U.K., Khloe opened up about standing in Kim's shadow even though she towers over her sister. "I probably thought I was prettier before I entered the spotlight because being compared to somebody else every day does sort of beats up your spirit and soul," she revealed. However, the popular reality show star also sees the silver lining. "But it's made me stronger," she went on to say.
Some stars might not like being compared to the Kardashians, but it can't be that bad since the family is composed of a close-knit crew of super successful celebs. So do you think that being compared to the family is really that offensive?
