Sigourney Weaver Joins ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot

Sigourney Weaver, who starred in the original “Ghostbusters” movies, has answered Sony’s call for its femme reboot.

It’s currently unclear whether the actress will be reprising her role of Dana Barrett.

“Gang, trying to keep surprises but this is about to leak, so I’ll tell you myself: the awesome Sigourney Weaver is going to be in our movie!” director Paul Feig tweeted on Friday.

Sigourney Weaver joins returning Ghostbusters Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. The foursome starred alongside the late Harold Ramis in the 1984 film and its 1989 sequel.

Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Chris Hemsworth topline the new movie.

“Ghostbusters” hits theaters on July 22, 2016.
