ZZ Top wasn't wrong when they sang that everyone's crazy about a sharp-dressed man and the Grammy Awards are a perfect example. At this year's 55th annual awards plenty of sharp men are scheduled to attend, including Justin Timberlake, performing his new single "Suit & Tie," Sting, Bruno Mars, Frank Ocean, The Black Keys and enough other gents to suit any taste. Eye candy abounds each year and this year is no different, but for nostalgic purposes let's take a peek at the past and check out the sexiest men to grace the Grammy's red carpet.
Sting is one of the most well-dressed rock music gents and with the exception of being the odd spiritual man dress/suit he wore in 2000, his look is always a hit. He is a legendary artist, philanthropist, devoted husband and father. At 61 years old, he looks just as good as he did when he was in The Police. The British musician received his first Grammy in 1981 and has continued to churn out hits and star-studded collaborations. This "Englishman in New York," L.A. and international megastar is still a head turner.
LL Cool J
LL Cool J is hosting the awards for a second time this year and he certainly knows how to do it well. This lip-licking, six-pack adorned rapper, actor and mogul has been making ladies swoon since his Adidas sweatsuit wearing days. Mr. Cool James has more than earned his stripes in the sexiest man category, if only for his shirtless angry rap in "Mama Said Knock You Out." Coincidentally, the song earned him Best Rap Solo Performance at the 1992 Grammys.
Frank Sinatra was the original dapper gent with bad boy appeal. At the first ever Grammys in 1959, Ol' Blue Eyes stepped out in style and set the tone for lady's men everywhere, donning a black suit and bow tie. This founding member of the Rat Pack was sharp enough to earn himself several titles but most notably, The Chairman of the Board. You can't get sexier than a man who knows how to be naughty but always look good doing it.
Jamie Foxx is taking 2013 by storm with his hit movie "Django Unchained" and owned the 2010 Grammy Awards in a suave black on black jacquard ensemble, with black aviator shades that epitomized the word sharp. Then, after Foxx killed it on the red carpet, he killed it on stage performing "Blame It" and inviting music legends Slash and Doug E. Fresh to join him. Foxx always knows how to step out in style, whether it be the red carpet, the stage or screen.
Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis grabs a sexy slot for remaining unapologetically rock'n'roll in his fashion choices, words and deeds. Kiedis is a Grammy veteran who still manages to rebel against the Grammy grain while being accepted into its fold. The chip-toothed, hard bodied rocker is just as comfortable donning a powder blue suit as he is a gold lame samurai skirt, like he did at the 1993 ceremony.
