Will The Secret Life of the American Teenager's Ricky and Amy ever walk down the aisle? Star Shailene Woodley says viewers will learn that answer on Monday's episode.

"Amy and Ricky finally make a decision and are finally going to act upon that decision," Woodley tells TVGuide.com. "It's [the moment] everyone has been waiting for."

Secret Life's Francia Raisa: Adrian wants Ricky even more now that he's engaged

When the ABC Family series debuted in 2008, 15-year-old Amy Juergens learned she was pregnant after losing her virginity at band camp to the popular guy in school, Ricky (Daren Kagasoff). The two kept the baby, but lead separate lives until ultimately moving in together at the start of Season 4. Ricky soon proposed in the middle of graduation, but the two (well, mostly Amy) continued to put off the nuptials. Now it seems they'll finally make their relationship official, but not in the way they initially planned.

"If they choose to get married they'll do it on their own with no one around," Woodley says. (And the photo above definitely supports the eloping tease.) "One of them is more into getting married than the other one." But what will Amy's parents think of their exclusion? "One of her parents is going to be for it and one of them is against it." Our bet is that mom is not so thrilled.

While Amy and Ricky are busy deciding their future, on the upcoming episode Amy will also grapple with the recent news that her mom, played by Molly Ringwald, is gay. "That news is pretty heavy for a 17-year-old to digest," Woodley says. "At first it will be hard for her to digest and understand after being raised by a mom she thought was straight the entire time, but eventually she'll get to a place of acceptance." And yes, soon Amy will see her mom start dating. "There will be some characters she becomes interested in," Woodley adds.

Of course, as in the nature of Secret Life, viewers shouldn't expect Monday's episode to be smooth sailing for the happy couple as Woodley leaves us with this final tease: "There's definitely a twist."

Do you hope Ricky and Amy finally say "I Do"?

Secret Life airs on Monday at 8/7c on ABC Family.
