Savannah Guthrie to Interview President Obama Before Super Bowl

“Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie will interview President Obama live during the Super Bowl pre-game show Sunday.

The interview will likely touch on the president’s recent State of the Union address, the growing threat of ISIS and what laws the country can get passed as Obama works with a fully-controlled Republican Congress.

Before the big day, Guthrie and “Today” colleague Al Roker will anchor “Today” from Block 23 in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday and Saturday. NBC Sports’ coverage of the Super Bowl begins at 12 p.m. ET on Feb. 1 and the game kicks off at 6.30 p.m. ET.

Idina Menzel will sing the National Anthem and John Legend will sing “America the Beautiful” before the game.
