Sam Donaldson Arrested for DUI: Other Stars Who Should Skip the Eggnog This Holiday Season

Breaking news...... Sam Donaldson has been a bad, bad boy!

The "ABC News" correspondent was reportedly arrested for driving under the influence in Delaware earlier this month.

According to Police Chief Jeffrey Horvath of Lewes, Delaware, the newsman was pulled over for a traffic violation after driving onto the shoulder of the road and it became apparent that he had been drinking on December 1. He reportedly failed a field sobriety test, was booked and released. His court date has not been scheduled.

Unfortunately, the news of a celebrity hopping behind the wheel while intoxicated is not new news. Here are some of the other stars who have been caught drinking and driving this holiday season:

Josh Brent: It was an absolute tragedy when two Dallas Cowboys players hopped into a Mercedes earlier this month after a night on the town. Before the night was over, player Jerry Brown had lost his life and his teammate Josh Brent was behind bars facing charges for intoxication manslaughter. The two players were headed home after a night of drinking during the early morning hours of December 8 when the car Brent was driving hit the curb and flipped over with tragic results.

Michael Madsen: The "Reservoir Dogs" star is in some major hot water after being charged with two counts of DUI following a joyride around Malibu in a flaming red hot-rod earlier this year. In September, the actor was pulled over after driving erratically. According to reports, he failed the field sobriety tests and his breathalyzer results were more than twice the legal limit. The Los Angeles Attorney has filed charges against the star for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and for driving with a BAC of .08 or higher. He is expected in court later this month.

Taran Noah Smith: The "Home Improvement" star is facing some grown up trouble after being convicted of DUI and hash possession earlier this month. The former teen actor when he was spotted by police parked in front of a fire hydrant. When officers approached the car, they were reportedly hit with the aroma of cannabis which prompted them to arrest the young man. He entered a guilty plea to a charge of drug possession and no contest to DUI. He was sentenced to a six-month drug diversion program for the hash possession and a twelve hour program for the DUI.
