Rob Pattinson is showing that he has grace under fire. Since the very public cheating scandal involving Kristen Stewart erupted, the actor has been laying low. It's one thing to know that your girlfriend cheated on you, it's another to see photos of her embrace with her lover. We're still not sure whether Kristen's public confirmation of her affair with her much older director, Rupert Sanders, was a good idea.
Relationship difficulties are challenging enough behind closed doors. When a potential breakup goes public, however, it leaves room for everyone else's scrutiny. Comedian Will Ferrell has already made light of the situation by calling Kristen a "trampire." "Twilight" super fangirl "Nutty Madam" Emma Clark has been making TV appearances to talk about her tear-filled video reaction to the incident. It seems that everyone has an opinion on the future of RobSten.
While all eyes are on Kristen, perhaps her new nemesis Brandi Glanville tweeted it best: "#ItTakes2." As "Real Housewives" star Glanville insists, "Home-wreckers come in pairs." There should be equal blame to go around. The "Snow White and The Huntsman" director is 41 years old with a wife and two kids. Sanders' wife, actress Liberty Ross, has reportedly not spoken to him since he confessed to the affair. Of course, she played the mother to Kristen's Snow White character in the movie.
So how is R-Patz healing from K-Stew's affair?
Distance is always a good way to get perspective on an emotional situation. Shortly after news of Kristen's infidelity broke, Rob hit the road. He's been reportedly holed up at Reese Witherspoon's Ojai, Calif., ranch. Whether he makes up with Kristen or they go their separate ways, the time apart will be helpful. Having the support of good friends never hurts either.
Staying alone and crying will not foster healing. After a big breakup, having a good time reminds you of how joyous life can be. This weekend, Rob partied at Deer Lodge, a local Ojai country Western bar for a fun night out. The 26-year old Brit was reportedly smiling and having a great time with buddies. This is a wonderful, healthy approach to healing.
Talk About It
Kristen had her say via her confession statement. This left everyone wondering how Rob feels. The public need not wonder for much longer. Rob has scheduled a sit down interview, his first since the affair news broke. Pattinson will speak to "Good Morning America" next Wednesday, August 15th, 2012. Will you be watching?
So, what do you think? Do you have any advice for Rob?
