President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney take part in a celebrity-filled video opening the CMT Music Awards!

Apparently the CMT Music Awards are not just for country singers! Hosts Toby Keith and Kristen Bell filmed mock political campaigns, outlining why each of them should be the sole host of the awards show, taking place tonight in Nashville. Kristen, whose arguments were a bit weaker but still adorable, went up against country superstar Toby … and the President and Mitt Romney weighed in via video!

President Obama deadpanned that this was “one of the toughest decisions” he’s had to make in office, before declaring “I want them both”. Romney proposed they cohost the show and said “I just put two people back to work. You’re welcome, America.”

Matthew McConaughey and Bon Jovi also threw in their votes, using things such as “Toby plays guitar which makes him cooler than people who don’t,” and “Kristen’s ‘hot’ and throws wild parties,” as reasons for each host.

Do you guys like that Obama and Romney got involved with the CMT Awards? What have been your favorite moments of the show so far?
