Poor Anne Hathaway Dealing with Bad Ex, Awful Diet, and a Relationship-Ruining Haircut?

Anne Hathaway has had a bit of a rough time lately. The actress has worked hard to move on from her humiliating love affair with a criminal, but now it's come back to haunt her - Anne's ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri is talking to the press about their relationship.

Luckily he's just been gushing about how in love he was with Anne and how they planned to get married, but obviously the actress would probably be happier if Raffaello would just disappear because of all the unwanted publicity that relationship led to - they dated for four years before the con-artist was arrested for fraud and other charges (he actually had the nerve to use the Vatican in his money-making scheme!).

In 2010 Anne told The Telegraph how she felt about Raffaello: "Goodness, it was a bad relationship. It was an embarrassing break-up, but what I went through is not that big a deal compared to what many people go through."

So while Anne admitted to being left red-faced after the end of that relationship, she proved to be ever-the-optimist by telling herself that things could have been worse.

That optimism has probably come in handy lately. Poor Anne's "Les Miserables" diet has left her pretty miserable - she says that she's been living on hummus and radishes in order to look like starving prostitute Fantine, and she also had to lop off her gorgeous brunette locks for the role. To make matters worse, Anne says that her new diet has been making her break out.

There's also a rumor that her new look and the extreme irritability caused by her diet are affecting her relationship with her current fiancé Adam Shulman. According to Star Magazine, the couple has been "bickering" a lot lately. Adam is allegedly telling his friends that Anne looks "like a sickly little boy" and is upset that her movie career is derailing their plans to start a family. Even if this rumor isn't true, it's just one extra bit of added stress for Anne, who probably doesn't want to see more stories about how unlucky in love she is.

And Anne's stress hasn't just been a recent thing - "The Dark Knight Rises" has been giving her grief all year. During an interview with Allure, she said this about playing Catwoman: "[The suit] was a psychological terrorist. The suit, thoughts of my suit, changing my life so I would fit into that suit.... It dominated my year. I didn't understand how you could be thin and strong. I went into the gym for ten months and didn't come out." So she jumped from one physically challenging movie role right into another one. And the Catwoman costume actually started becoming a bigger problem for her back in 2011 when she was forced to defend it -- some fanboys weren't thrilled with the iconic character's new look.

Luckily suffering for art might end up being worth something - "The Dark Knight Rises" could prove to be Anne's biggest movie at the box office, and she just might win an Oscar for "Les Miserables." If this happens, then perhaps she'll take some much-needed time off to eat, relax, and think about starting a family with her fiancé.
