Pink’s CoverGirl Reinvention! Plus Other Unexpected Celebrity Endorsements

Pink is the newest face of CoverGirl. The "Can't Take Me Home" singer says that she "has always been a makeup girl." Her first photos as brand ambassador are a mix of punk and pink lipstick. At first blush, Pink seems to be a non-traditional choice for the beauty company.

Alecia Moore fans need not worry about the edgy rocker growing soft, however. While getting her makeup done she tweeted, "Yesterday my face got beat. Today it's a gang bang." Clearly the cosmetics company knew who they were buying into when they signed the rock star. Her resume before CoverGirl includes: mocking female pop stars for being "Stupid Girls," swinging from a trapeze in a nude bodysuit and screaming "So What" about the then-demise of her marriage.

Despite seeming like an unusual choice to rep a makeup brand, Pink actually has great appeal! The Grammy-winning artist brings more than ten million faithful Twitter supporters with her to the famed makeup line. Check out these other celebs who may have seemed like an odd fit for the brands they endorsed.

Rihanna & Nivea

Rihanna had her own relationship with CoverGirl in the past and last year started a partnership with Nivea during her "Loud" tour. However, Ri-Ri's image has transitioned from colorful to dark and this year, the new CEO proclaimed, "Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family, and reliability." Apparently, the skin care experts find Jay-Z's protege to be the antithesis of those values. They broke all ties with the singer.

Ellen & CoverGirl

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is also a CoverGirl talent. The consummate funny woman currently stars in a series of commercials with "Modern Family" bombshell Sofia Vergara. When Ellen signed the deal, brand rep Esi Eggleston Bracey said, "Ellen is the quintessential CoverGirl." The executive further explained, "[Ellen] is smart, confident, natural and beautiful from the inside out. Her beauty and down-to-earth personality fit perfectly with what CoverGirl represents." Ellen has also promoted the makeup products on her show.

So, what do you think? Are Pink and CoverGirl an "easy breezy, beautiful" match?
