"I'm leaving America's Got Talent after 6 wonderful years. Turned out that juggling's harder than it looks, so I'm going to focus on CNN," Morgan tweeted late Wednesday. " Big thanks to NBC, Fremantle, and of course, my friend Simon Cowell, for giving me such a great opportunity. It's been a blast."
Morgan, 46, had served as a judge on America's Got Talent since the show started six years ago. The show was one of his first major appearances in the United States before he was named the successor to Larry King's coveted timeslot on CNN last year. Morgan also served as a judge on Britain's Got Talent from 2007 to 2010.
America's Got Talent, which normally runs during the summer on NBC, has undergone many changes to the judges table over the years. Osbourne replaced Brandy Norwood after the first season, and Mandel took David Hasselhoff's spot in 2010. Cannon is the reality competition's third host, following Regis Philbin and Jerry Springer.
