One big happy family: Denise Richards throws birthday bash for Charlie Sheen’s ex Brooke Mueller

And the ex-wife of the year award goes to … Denise Richards (again).

The 41-year-old has stayed cool as can be in recent years as Charlie Sheen – her former husband and the father of two of her daughters – has been up to plenty of embarrassing antics, including that winning-goddesses-tiger-blood phase, followed by a bizarre one-man show where he traveled the country babbling nonsense and bashing Richards. Through it all, the “Wild Things” star has taken the high road, never responding to his public insults, making sure the one-time couple spends time together with their kids, and simply forgiving and forgetting. But her latest gesture really goes above and beyond even the best of ex behavior when she hosted a birthday party at her home for the woman Sheen married (and divorced) after her, Brooke Mueller.

“Having a party 2day..ex-wife #2(me) is having ex-wife #3(brooke) bday party at my house..oh & our ex-husband will be here,” Richards posted to her Twitter account over the weekend, jokingly adding, “how's your Sunday?”

And their collective broods also reportedly joined in the family-friendly celebration (which marked Mueller’s 35th birthday), including Sheen and Richards’ daughters, Sam, 8, and Lola, 7; Sheen’s twins with Mueller, 3-year-olds Bob and Max; and Eloise, the baby girl Richards adopted last year.

In case you’ve forgotten, here’s a bit of background: Sheen and Richards were married for a little over four years, divorcing in 2006, while the former “Two and a Half Men” star and Mueller, a realtor, only lasted two years, splitting in 2011. Richards, it seems, holds no ill will against Sheen. Not only did appear on on the 46-year-old’s new FX series “Anger Management” earlier this summer, but the couple often attends their daughters’ soccer games together, and she recently tweeted out a pic of Sheen manning a grill, writing “family night BBQ!” As for her relationship with Mueller, Richards reportedly offered to take care of her twins last year when Mueller checked into rehab (though she wasn’t taken up on her offer), and the ladies have been spotted hanging out together before.

"I've always been a very forgiving person and I think that you should move on from situations. I don't like to have that toxic energy and hold on to things. I like to move on and move past it," she told omg! in May of why she’s had no problem burying the hatchet with her ex. "As the world has seen … it's been up and down and I'm honest about that. There's times where it's good and times where it's not. So I do it for myself to not hold on to that and also for the kids. I've always come from a place of putting things aside for our children. And, you know, everyone benefits from that, especially the kids."

No word on who else was on the guest list of the bash honoring Mueller, but it’s very possible Mueller’s new boyfriend, country crooner Jaron Lowenstein, was invited. Now if his ex showed up, too, then this is officially the friendliest family in Hollywood.
