Nikita will go out on a high note, so to speak.

At the series' Comic-Con panel on Friday, creator Craig Silverstein revealed that the season will place Nikita's gang on a plane. "Their lair this time is an airplane that means they can be in different places around the globe," he said. "We're going to be in the sky!"

Despite that uplifting news, the panel was somewhat subdued because this will be the show's final season, with only six episodes to wrap things up. "It's bittersweet," said Silverstein. "I'm just glad we get to end it and bring it to a full close... knowing that it's going to finish lets us end it with a period, hopefully an exclamation point."

Maggie Q, who plays the titular butt-kicking agent, added, "When I found out about the last order... my heart hurt because I have a very deep love for [the cast and crew]. But we get to end this show with such an integrity and our heads high. I didn't want it to drag out... I wanted it to go out and have everyone feel full and maybe a little hungry."

Check out more scoop and highlights from the panel:

Back to the beginning "There is some return to the origin," Silverstein said. "We see Nikita before Division, before Carla. There's some stuff we haven't seen before. Where did this all start for her? ...Her issues that she has about being abandoned. The stuff that led her to commit the crime she committed in the first place that got her on Division's radar."

Six is enough Silverstein has made peace with concluding his series in only six episodes. "You get right to the good stuff and you don't have that slower buildup," he said. "It allows us to not take our foot off the pedal until the very end. That's a bonus in a way."

"Mikita" drama continues To the horror of fans, Nikita left her fiancé Michael (Shane West) at the end of last season. Q defends her decision. "It was a decision made purely out of love," she said. "She left because she really loved this man." West added. "[Michael] is always going to worry and always going to love Nikita. It puts the relationship to the test of where it could possibly go."

Emmy snubs and surprises

The evolution of Alex Lyndsy Fonseca was thrilled with the way her character Alexandra Udinov went from a scared, drugged-out former sex trafficking victim to a powerful public symbol for survival. This season she'll take advantage of her status even more to help the gang. "She doesn't have to hide anymore," Fonseca said. "She's a real person and has a public persona."

The unsinkable Amanda Silverstein revealed that Amanda (Melinda Clarke) wasn't supposed to live to the fourth season. "She is too evil to destroy," he said. "Our plan was to kill Amanda at the end of last seaon, but something happened and we could not kill her... She's definitely the big bad [this season] and ... Nikita is taking what's dark inside of her and try to exorcise it by trying to get rid of Amanda."

Owen/Sam returns! Although Owen (Devon Sawa) -- and his real identity as Sam -- has no real ties to Nikita's gang anymore, Silverstein found a way for him to return. "He comes back into the fold," he said. "Owen is a wild card; Sam is more so. There's no reason for him to be with them except for he still wants to get revenge on Amanda for turning him into Owen for 10 years, what he thinks of as a dope. He's a very volatile element to have along." Fonseca also revealed that Alex will meet up with Owen in the first episode back.

The return of Percy? Former Division head Percy (Xander Berkeley) may have died at the end of Season 2, but one fan in the audience would love to see him in a flashback. Although Silverstein didn't say one way or another if Percy will return, he said, "A whole Xander flashback -- I'd love to see it, yeah."

Nikita returns to The CW for midseason.
