Nigel Lythgoe is returning as executive producer for American Idol's next season, E! News reports.
The long negotiations with the So You Think You Can Dance judge have left production of the series "way behind normal schedule," according to the report. Now that Lythgoe's officially back, his first order of business is to "lock in judges."
