Nick Stahl has been a bad, bad boy! AGAIN!

The star of "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" was reportedly arrested in Los Angeles during a routine check at a porn paraphernalia and movie store. According to TMZ, undercover vice officers were making a check of the Hollywood store on Thursday evening when they discovered the former teen star alone in a private book watching a movie while allegedly "entertaining" himself. He was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor lewd conduct. The actor was released a few hours later.

This latest incident caps off a roller-coaster year for the star who was reported missing in May. He later emerged claiming to have spent several days in rehab. A second disappearance occurred a month later only to have him spotted again in July with no explanation for his falling off the grid.

While it may seem that being arrested for a lewd act would be the kiss of death for a celebrity, there is lots of hope that the young actor can put this bad boy phase behind him. There are plenty of stars who have had their own bad boy capers who have been able to move on and become bigger than ever. Here are a few of the stars who were caught behaving badly:

Paul Ruebens: On-screen he portrayed one of the biggest children's television stars of the late 1980s as the star of "Pee-Wee's Playhouse". Off-screen he was a dude who became one of the biggest punchlines of the 90s after being arrested in 1991 for allegedly masturbating in a porn theater in Florida. Things turned even worse in 2002 when he was faced with child pornography charges following a raid on his Hollywood home. He would ultimately plead no contest to the lewd conduct charge and would spend more than three years battling the child pornography charges before they were reduced to a misdemeanor obscenity offense. After several years of trying to move on with his career, he returned to his Pee-Wee roots in 2010 by appearing in the Broadway show, "The Pee-Wee Herman Show".

Robe Lowe: He was the "It" guy of the 1980s when the actor was hit with his very own sex scandal. Hot on the heels of his success in "The Outsiders," "St. Elmo's Fire" and "About Last Night" came allegations that the star was captured on video have sex with two young women. Adding salt to the wound was the contention that one of the girls was only 16 at the time the video was taped on the eve before the Democratic National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. While the actor contended that he did not know the girl was underage, the damage was done to his career and the actor was sent packing from the Hollywood Hills. It would take a few years and some self-ridicule for the star to get back in Hollywood's good graces with a stint in the 1992 film, "Wayne's World." It was ultimately his role on the television show, "The West Wing" that returned him to star status. These days he can be spotted on the NBC sitcom, "Parks and Recreation."

Charlie Sheen: Here's a shocker - Charlie Sheen likes hookers! After being tied to Beverly Hills Madam, Heidi Fleiss, the actor took to the stand to admit that he had paid her $53,000 for the services of some of her girls. Rather than hide from the scandal, Sheen incorporated it into his persona making it part of an ongoing punchline on the hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men" in which his character Charlie Harper engaged in decades of casual sex through one-night stands and the occasional prostitute.
