NBC Picks Up Three New Shows

NBC Picks Up Three New Shows

Fresh off their biggest premiere week in nine years, NBC has put in full-season orders for three of their fall freshman.

Go On, Revolution and The New Normal have been announced as the first full-season commitments for the 2012-2013 season.

VIDEO: New Normal Cast Embraces Early Controversy

"We're impressed with the imagination and creative direction of the entire team on Revolution, not to mention the immediately strong response we got from the audience," said President, NBC Entertainment Jennifer Salke. She went on to add, "We're also very proud of our new comedy block of Go On and The New Normal. In partnering with Matthew Perry for Go On, creator Scott Silveri has created a comedy with a highly original voice that deftly combines humor and emotion. And Ryan Murphy and Ali Adler have created a truly unique family in The New Normal that is reflective of the changing dynamics of the world we live in. These shows are both welcome additions to our new lineup!"

The decision to hold on to these new shows is hardly surprising. J.J. Abrams' drama, Revolution, debuted on September 17 with the highest rating of viewers between the ages of 18-49 for a premiering drama on any network in three years; Go On currently ranks as the No. 1 new comedy of the fall; and Ryan Murphy's The New Normal has been one of the most talked about shows of the year.

While these casts have plenty to be thankful for, some are still bemoaning the last pilot development season. In a new YouTube video, five actors from the rejected NBC pilot Downwardly Mobile came together to launch a web series titled Bitter, Party of 5. Check out the first episode below, where they learn that the promising project, starring Roseanne Bar and John Goodman, didn't get picked up.
