NBC has ordered a comedy pilot called “Marry Me” from “Happy Endings” creator David Caspe.
The half hour, single camera comedy follows a longtime couple who gets engaged and quickly realizes it is harder than it looks.
Joining Caspe on the comedy from Sony Pictures Television are executive producers Seth Gordon (“The Goldbergs”), who will also direct the pilot, and former ABC Entertainment president Jamie Tarses (“Franklin & Bash,” “Men at Work”).
Aside from executive producing ABC’s “Happy Endings” for three seasons, Caspe wrote the Adam Sandler/Adam Samberg movie “That’s My Boy.”
“Marry Me” will go into contention for series pick up at NBC with Kate Walsh-starrer “Bad Judge.”
NBC has already ordered Mark and Robb Cullen’s “Mr. Robinson,” an untitled Tina Fey/Ellie Kemper comedy and Katie and Jane Ford’s “Working the Engels” to series.
