Steve Martin

Actor Nolan Gould is best known for playing the adorable - and goofy - youngest child Luke Dunphy on "Modern Family," but in real life he's known for his incredible academic prowess.

How smart is he? The 13-year-old just tested out of high school and is a certified member of Mensa.

"Over the summer, I did a lot of studying and I took an exam and tested out of high school," he told Ellen DeGeneres earlier this week. "So I'm hopefully going to go on and do some online community college courses."

Gould also told DeGeneres earlier this year that he likes to discuss nuclear physics in his free time. What were you doing at 13? We definitely weren't discussing science.

The teen might be one of the youngest geniuses and Mensa members in Hollywood, but he's not the only one in the exclusive club for the top two percent of IQs worldwide.

Steve Martin

Steve Martin is known more for his funny roles in films like "The Jerk" and shows like "Saturday Night Live," but in reality he's more than just a comedian. Martin, 67, has an IQ estimated to be around 142. He studied philosophy at Cal State and even considered being a professor for a big university. Lucky for us, he opted for another career.

He joked about getting into the prestigious group in an video.

"Joining Mensa means that you are a genius, and enables you to meet other members who will understand what the hell you are talking about when you say, for example, 'That lamppost is tawdry.' That's the kind of person they're after," he joked in the clip. "Joining Mensa instills in one a courtly benevolence toward nonmembers, who would pretend to know what you know, think what you think, and stultify what you perambulate."

Goldie Hawn

Actress Goldie Hawn made a career out of playing flighty and ditzy characters. She's anything but ditzy, though: Hawn has an IQ of at least 132 since she's a certified member of Mensa and that's the minimum IQ needed to get in the club.

No word on whether or not daughter Kate Hudson is that smart, too.

Geena Davis

This one we can believe: Academy Award-winning actress Geena Davis is a member of Mensa. Being ultra smart doesn't mean she's smart in all areas of her life, though. The actress has been married four times, including a three-year stint with actor Jeff Goldblum from 1987 to 1990.
