Miley Cyrus doesn’t need twerking to get record sales — she just needed to get naked and ride random demolition equipment.

The former “Hannah Montana” scored her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single with “Wrecking Ball” Wednesday. Cyrus had come as close as one can in the past, reaching No. 2 with her songs “We Can’t Stop” and “Party in the U.S.A.,” but never got the top spot until now.

In doing so, “Wrecking Ball” broke through Katy Perry’s “Roar, the previous No. 1.

“Wrecking Ball” has been living up to its name, also shattering the Spotify record for biggest week for a single track, with 2.5 million streams in the U.S.

The music video for the song — which sees a naked Cyrus riding the titular swinging construction contraption and licking a sledgehammer — also broke VEVO’s record by delivering 100 million views in just six days.

The video, released on Sep. 9, garnered 19.3 million views in 24 hours, also the best ever. Cyrus broke her own “We Can’t Stop” record on that one, which was an impressive, but far longer 37 days.

Cyrus’ new album “Bangerz” comes out Oct. 8.
