Miley Cyrus ‘Rolling Stone’ Interview: The Best Parts

Miley Cyrus

Apparently there's more to Miley Cyrus than tongues and twerking. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the 20-year-old pop star opened up about everything from her body art to her personal relationships. She also verified her weight (108) and gave the real scoop on that totally unsexy MTV Video Music Awards performance. (Yes, she knows it wasn't hot!)

Here are five more things we learned about Miley.

1. Tats? She has a few, and that we knew. But to celebrate her first Rolling Stone cover, Cyrus got the mag's name tattooed on her feet. Her other ink includes a peace sign, an equal sign, a heart and a cross, a Leonardo da Vinci sketch, the date her parents first met, and a line from a Teddy Roosevelt speech. "It's about how people judge who wins and who loses, but they're not the ones in there fighting," she said of the Teddy tat. "It's about critics."

2. Her neighbors include Diddy's "baby mama" and Steve Carell, who she says "always gives me the stank-eye because I drive so fast."

"The other day I was trying to reverse and I almost hit a thousand things, and I was getting nervous because I could see him going," she told the mag. "I'm like, oh, my God, Dan in Real Life is watching me right now!"

3. She scoffs at her TV mom's reaction to her controversial MTV Video Music Awards performance. In an interview with the "Today show," Brooke Shields -- who played Miley's mom back in her Disney days -- called the raunchy VMA performance "a little desperate." "I was Hannah Montana's mother," she said. "I do not approve. I just want to know who's advising her, and why it's necessary."

Miley's retort: "Brooke Shields was in a movie where she was a prostitute at age 12!" (Yeah, she went there, slamming her TV mom's controversial 1978 flick, "Pretty Baby.")

4. For the record, she knows it's not sexy to stick out her tongue and wear rolled up little pigtails like a deranged Cindy Brady. The pop star told Rolling Stone: "I wasn't trying to be sexy. If I was trying to be sexy, I could have been sexy. I can dance a lot better than I was dancing." As for the hair: "I look like a little creature," she said.

5. She tries to guide Justin Bieber a little bit, but acknowledges boys are "like seven years behind…so in his head he's really like 12."

"I'm not much older than him, so I never want it to feel like I'm mentoring him," she said. "But I do mentor him in a way. Because I've been doing this… for a long time, and I already transitioned, and I don't think he's quite done it yet." Her goal: She doesn't want to see her pal become the next Vanilla Ice.

The new interview is not the first time this year the headline making singer has opened up about her career and personal life.

In June, Miley gave Rolling Stone her two cents on the topic of marijuana, saying, "I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana. I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

She also told Cosmopolitan she never played the "Disney game of smiling and being a princess." And earlier this year she told Billboard, "Right now, when people go to iTunes and listen to my old music, it's so irritating to me because I can't just erase that stuff and start over."
