Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are separating.

Arnold's Schwarzenegger's mistress is speaking out about her affair with the action star and former California governor -- and she's airing all of her dirty laundry.

"It was as Joseph grew and I started to see the resemblance that I wondered -- but It became more apparent as time went on," Mildred Baena told Hello! magazine in an exclusive interview.

"I knew Arnold was the father, and maybe as Joseph got older and began to look like him, he [Arnold] wondered. But he never said anything to me."

She still kept it quiet, even though she sense Schwarzenegger's wife, Maria Shriver, knew something was up.

"She would say things like, 'I'm here if you need to talk.' I sensed something was up. I have so much love and respect for Maria," Baena remembered. "Finally, she asked point blank."

What was more surprising to Baena was Shriver's reaction to the revelation.

"She was so strong. She cried with me and told me to get off my knees. We held each other and I told her it wasn't Arnie's fault, that it takes two," she added.

Baena and her son with Schwarzenegger, Joseph, are currently in hiding.

Why Did Mildred Baena Tell All to Hello?

Baena's tell-all to Hello! screams "payday!" -- after all, gossip magazines like Hello! are known for buying stories off their sources. However, Baena's lawyer insists that isn't the case.

"Mildred was tired of people selling their lies to the media or claiming to speak for her when they do not ... She gave the interview in order to set the record straight once and for all," Baena's lawyer told TMZ.

"All she wanted to do was put the lies and rumors to rest. And we believe that she has done that through this interview."

So, why Hello! and not, say, People or The New York Times? The lawyer told TMZ the interviewer was a personal friend and chose to sell the story to Hello!

We're not convinced. After all, it's pretty customary for people in scandalous situations to try and make a buck off their instant fame. Why would Baena be any different?

Money or not, we get why Baena told her story. A lot of people are painting her to be some unattractive low-life that preyed on Schwarzenegger. Obviously, that's not the case. In fact, she still hopes the famous couple mends their relationship.

"He's a good man and I know he's suffering too. He loves Maria. I hope with time they work things out," Baena said.

And what about her son, Joseph -- how did he react when he found out the action star is his dad?

"Cool!" he exclaimed.
