Michael Bay Hits Back at 'Transformers' Actors
While both Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf have famously dissed the Transformers franchise, it looks like Hugo Weaving (who voiced the villainous Megatron) is the actor who really has the ability to get under director Michael Bay's skin.
After Weaving recently told Collider.com that his voice work for Transformers was "meaningless" and that it was a "weird job" for him, Bay hit back with a rant on his official website (as first reported on Vulture and THR.com), though he has since deleted it.
"Do you ever get sick of actors that make $15 million a picture, or even $200,000 for voiceover work that took a brisk one hour and 43 minutes to complete, and then complain about their jobs?," he wrote. With all the problems facing our world today, do these grumbling thespians really think people reading the news actually care about trivial complaints that their job wasn't "artistic enough" or "fulfilling enough"? [...] What happened to people who had integrity, who did a job, got paid for their hard work, and just smiled afterward? Be happy you even have a job -- let alone a job that pays you more than 98% of the people in America. I have a wonderful idea for all those whiners: They can give their "unhappy job money" to a wonderful Elephant Rescue. It's the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Africa. I will match the funds they donate."

LaBeouf has been candid about his dislike for the franchise, telling The Hollywood Reporter in August that he was done with the Hollywood studio system in large part due to his negative experience filming Transformers.
"There's no room for being a visionary in the studio system. It literally cannot exist," he said. "You give Terrence Malick a movie like Transformers, and he's f---ed. There's no way for him to exist in that world."

Fox was famously fired from Transformers: Dark of the Moon for comparing Bay to Hitler in Wonderland magazine.
"He's like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he's a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he's not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he's so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all," she said.
